International Aspirations - Apply Now

I’ve had an uptick in inquiries from students and parents who are interested in applying to colleges outside of the U.S., specifically to colleges in the UK, Ireland, and Canada. Since I am currently in the UK touring universities, this blog post and several following will discuss the benefits of a degree from one of the many esteemed universities in the UK as well as the steps to apply. In future posts I will focus on Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada.
Why study in the UK? The UK has a long history of educational excellence with hands-on learning in the form of internships and student work placements. An education from a UK university will most likely be less expensive than many US universities. Their degrees (called “courses” in the UK) are globally recognized for their high quality and rigorous global curriculum. A UK degree sets you apart from other applicants to graduate school or jobs by demonstrating cross-cultural communication and a “get outside of comfort zone” attitude, which shows initiative and a willingness to pursue personal growth and courage to go the distance in your learning.
Traveling in the UK these past few weeks, I’ve visited universities in Canterbury, London, and will head to Oxford and Cambridge next. I’m here because I deeply believe in the transformative power of a global education. My students consistently provide testimony to the profound personal growth that happens through expanding their worldview and gaining lifelong friendships.

In the next few blog posts I’ll detail out my experiences visiting UK universities and also provide expert knowledge to help demystify the process of applying to universities outside of the U.S. Once students understand the differences in the application process, it can prove to be more straightforward than applying to U.S. schools. Most UK universities use the UCAS application platform, similar to the Common App with some also on the Common App. There is housing and financial support available to international students, with many universities guaranteeing scholarships for students with strong GPA’s.
For many universities across the UK, it’s not too late to apply for autumn 2025 admission. Continue reading below and feel free to reach out to me for a complimentary consultation to learn more and plan your international adventures.
